Recruitment
Police officer careers with Central Scotland Police
It really is a job like no other. It's summed up in the description of the general duties of police constables: to guard, patrol and watch so as to prevent the commission of offences; to preserve order; and to protect life and property.
Police Officers serving with Central Scotland Police perform a wide variety of roles as part of the Force's aims to care for our communities, safeguard the public and prevent crime.
The Force enjoys a positive relationship with the communities we serve - and as a uniformed officer you could find yourself working within Policing Operations, Community Policing Teams, Roads Policing or a number of specialist functions such as our Policing Management Unit, Armed Response, Public Order or Interventions Teams. As a Detective, your career may also be wide and varied - from Divisional CID Officer to helping to investigate the most serious and sensitive of crimes. It's anything but a 9am-5pm role and can often involve shift working. But it's an exciting role which has no shortage of job satisfaction.
However, it's all about community policing - providing the best possible service delivered to the highest possible professional standard to make sure the public are safe and crime and disorder are addressed in line with the force's priorities.
