Chinese New Year
Thursday, 11th February 2010
Constable Matt Short is Central Scotland Police's Chinese liaison officer.
Chinese New Year is celebrated on Saturday February 14 - the year 4707 in the Chinese calendar and the year of the Tiger.

PC Short said: "There will be celebrations taking place across the force and Central Scotland Police wishes everyone well in the new year.
"Whilst this time of year is a time of celebration, criminals will be on the lookout for opportunities and some simple steps can prevent you from becoming a victim of crime.
"If you are leaving your home for a period of time, consider fitting good timer switches to the lights in the living areas of the house and angle all blinds so that nobody can see within. You may also wish to leave a radio playing whilst you are away from your home. Keep property or monies secure within the property at all times and if you are travelling with gifts ensure they are also carried safely and securely."
