Welfare Officer

The health and welfare of our staff is always of prime importance. This is reflected in the work of the Human Resources department, which is responsible for formulating the force Health and Safety Policy approved by the Force Executive and the Joint Police Board. It is essential to promote and implement this policy to enable health and safety to have a justifiably high profile within the force.

Our Welfare Officer is now based in the Lodge Building at Headquarters, which houses Welfare, the Occupational Health Unit, and the Sexual Offences Suite. The Department continues to focus upon Occupational Health and Welfare issues. Part of this focus is on reducing sickness levels throughout the force and methods of doing so will be included in the Departments objectives.
